Wash Care Guide
At rōmrōm, we derive our prints and color palette from plant parts- flowers, leaves, roots, bark, etc. To eco-print or dye with plant dyes, we mordant our fabrics with alum and/or tannins to increase the wash fastness and light fastness of colors. Natural dyes give our garments the essence and goodness of the dyestuff used without any chemicals that harm the skin or the soil they go back to.
Like everything natural and living, natural dyes also respond to everything it bonds with. Hence, it is affected by sunlight or harsh chemicals when it comes in contact with them. Natural dyes fade beautifully with time and will tell the story of the garment and the occasions they grace.
Since they have a life of their own, we encourage you to care for your pieces keeping that in mind, and follow some simple instructions below to prolong the life of color and prints.
- Hand wash or machine wash on a gentle cycle using mild ph neutral soap
